Especially nice example of an easy-drinking red that still gives a flavor of classic old Europe. Lovely to drink now for all it’s fresh fruit and intriguing spiciness, it’s even better a day or two later as it opens up in your favorite decanter; a wine to drink over the next couple of years. Excellent with pizza and latkes!

Tasting Notes:

A bright ruby/purple color which is typical of a young wine. The aromas that leap from the glass are varied and savory, and include cranberry, licorice spice, and a hint of gaminess. It awakens memories of savory Old European stores where your grandparents could shop for their favorite type of charcuterie and hard-to-find spices. Full of brilliant, juicy red fruit when you taste it, this wine is soft and plump but still structured with silky, light tannins.
